This ceramic mug is attributed to the Toltecs, C900AD, and appears to be a representation of the rain god, Tlaloc. He was the controller of clouds, rain, lightning, and mountain springs. His kingdom received the spirits of those killed by thunderbolts, water, leprosy, and contagious diseases: it was named the earthly paradise, tlalocan. This mug is 4" high and 3 1/2" wide. It is in perfect condition with no restoration or repair. Due to a recent diagnosed major health problem, I have dropped the price of this piece and all my items by at least 50% to at or below the price I paid many years ago. Now is the time to pick up a great deal. My loss is your gain. This piece was $1200.
