CHINESE TANG DYNASTY PAINT POTTERY HORSE 800 AD (L128)

A superb, rare Tang dynasty pottery horse, standing tall, four square on a plain rectangular base. Modeled with its head tilted slightly to the left, it has been painted red with white hooves. Decoration includes a black halter and harness, and an white saddle sitting on a white blanket. Much of the original paint on this artifact is still visible.
