Fine Chinese Ivory Carving of Maiden with Flowers
DESCRIPTION: A finely carved and flamboyant Chinese ivory carving of a woman in flowing robes holding a large bouquet of flowers. The motion expressed in this carving is excellent, as if a strong breeze is blowing her garments & sashes in the wind. In her finely coiffed hair she wears a bird ornament. Dating from the first half of the 20th C. (1900 1950), this remarkable carving is in excellent condition; we can find no breaks, chips or repairs anywhere. Mounted on stand with inlaid silver wire. DIMENSIONS: Ivory carving is 7.5 high (19 cm); including stand is 9 high (23 cm); 4 3/8 wide (11 cm).
