Rare Chinese Horn Snuff Bottle, 18th C. Qing
DESCRIPTION: A large rare Chinese (perhaps Mongolian) animal horn snuff bottle with hinged side opening and horse hair brush stopper. The two sides of the bottle have been shaped from horn then fastened with brass brads. On one side is a hinged door that opens for easy packing of snuff. The white horse hair stopper is also removable. From a Florida collection and in very good condition; 18th C. to early 19th C., this is wonderful piece of Chinese folk art. DIMENSIONS: The bottle without the horse hair stopper is 3 ¾” high (9.5 cm) x 3” wide (7.6 cm).
