| DESCRIPTION: A finely carved, leaf-shaped rosewood (Hong Mu) box with bulbous body and carved veins. The top lid is inlaid with two stone insects (a grasshopper and cicada), both with inlaid eyes and mother-of-pearl wings. This box has the beautiful grain and color so highly valued in fine rosewood, which can be clearly seen in the last two photos of the bottom half. A truly beautiful box in excellent condition. DIMENSIONS: 6 ¼” wide (15.9 cm) x 5 ½” deep (14 cm) x 2 3/8” high (6 cm). | |||||||||||||||
