| A North African lamp with crouching lion, Roman, c.2nd Century AD. Mouldmade with concave disc featuring a crouching lion above filling hole. Shoulder decorated with radiating eggs around molding grooves, small loop handle at back. Short round-tipped nozzle with large wick hole/ Slightly raised flat base with uninscribed planta pedis. L: 3 3/4” (9.5 cm). Intact, cream-yellow clay with remains of brown slip. | ||
