|Ancient Egypt. A nice stone ‘two fingers’ amulet, Late Period, c. 664 – 30 BC, representing the index and middle finger, the nails nicely delineated. Intact. L: 2 1/4” (5.7 cm). According to Andrews, this amulet types may refer to the two fingers of the embalmer, as it is often found near the incision hole on mummies. It may also be there to protect a very vulnerable part of the mummy.|
