| A Luristan bronze dagger set into an antique ivory handle, late 2nd millennium BC. Blade is leaf shaped with broad midrib and long tang set into an antique ivory handle. Intact with a few minor chips to the handle. L: 13 3/4” (34.7 cm). Cf. Moorey, "Catalogue of Ancient Persian Bronzes in the Ashmolean Museum," p.66, nos. 38-40 for type. A nice example with a handle similar to the types these daggers originally possessed. | ||
