| A Luristan bronze dirk which has been broken in antiquity, late 2nd millenium BC, with hilt and blade originally cast in one piece. The hilt and penannular rib is flanged to take inlays, which is a more unusual feature on these types of weapons. The blade is heavy and well preserved with a narrow and very prominent midrib. The patination along the edges of the break suggest it was broken in antiquity, most likely for ritual purposes. Original length: 16 1/2” (43 cm). In nice condition and a most unusual with such a clean break at the strongest portion of the weapon. | ||
