A colorful, vibrant, beautiful pin by Modernist Elsa Freund ( 1912-2001) who was born in Missouri and influenced by the beauty of the Ozarks. This one of a kind piece is hand forged sterling silver and the "stone" is clay fired with pulverized bits of glass, a method she developed, that her husband named "Elsaramics". The pin measures 2 1/2" by 2" and is in fine original condition, no chips or cracks. It is signed "Elsa" on the reverse of the pin as shown. Elsa Freunds' work is collected worldwide and featured in permanent collections of several museums in the U.S. This is a stunning piece by one of the great women Modernist silversmiths.
