Wonderful, rare 950 silver cuff with 2 intricately carved citrines by Roberto or Haroldo Burle Marx in the "forma livre" (free form) style that they created. These Brazilian brothers were particularly known for their use of large gemstones, often fashioned by carving or tumbling rather than being faceted. These stones pop on the Modernist, industrial design of the base of the bracelet and fit perfectly into the opening of the two squares. Measuring 5 1/4" around in the inside plus an additional 1 1/4" opening, it is 5/8" wide in the front and weighs 24 grams. It is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the citrines and patina that can be gently cleaned by the next owner if preferred. Signed as shown. In June, there was an exhibit of Burle Marx jewelry at Wright Gallery in NYC. Their work is dazzling.
