This is a glass vase by Bertil Vallien, 10-1/2" high, marked on the bottom Kosta Boda/Artist Coll/B Vallien/48439. The vase is slightly iridescent. The Artist Collection is a special limited edition line apart from the normal production line. Vallien, who is still alive, joined Kosta Boda around 1970's. He is now considered one of the top glass artists, and his work is in U.S. museums. This piece dates to around the 1970's, and the condition is excellent.

This beautiful open master salt in a silver plate frame is 3-1/8" wide by 2-3/8" by 1-3/4" high. The silver plate frame has beading around the top rim, an elaborate pierced pattern on the side and four fancy feet. The overall condition is excellent, no damage to the cobalt blue liner. The silver plate is in excellent condition, with just the slightest, minute wear to the bottoms of the feet, not visible when the salt is in use. There is no maker's mark. I would estimate the age of this piece to around 1890-1910.

This oval footed open master salt is 3-1/4" wide by 2-1/4" by 1-3/8" high. The sterling frame weighs 17.7 dwt. or 27.5 g., without the cobalt glass liner. The maker's mark on the bottom belongs to Graff, Washbourne & Dunn of New York, NY. The company incorporated around 1899 and was purchased by Gorham in 1961. The bottom is also marked Sterling 1113X, A. Stowell & Co., which was probably the original retailer. The condition of the glass is excellent, no damage. The sterling is also in very good condition with just a tiny ding around the top rim, hardly noticeable. The piece dates to about 1920.

This is a set of six Bohemian wine glasses on stems. They are 6-1/2" high, 2-7/8" in diameter across the top. The stem is hexagonal, tapered from top to narrower at bottom. The stem and the foot are clear. The bowl at top is slightly nipped in and flared out at the top and is a beautiful medium green cut to clear to emphasize the grapes, leaves and tendrils. There are no marks on the glasses, but the quality is very fine, and the glass rings at a high pitch. Each glass weighs 8.7 ounces, a substantial but not overly heavy weight. There is a total of 7 glasses, essentially a set of 6 with an extra glass. They are Bohemian, date to about 1900, and the condition is excellent. There are almost no scratches on the bottoms, which indicates that the glasses were used very little.

This brush is 9" long, 3" wide. It is marked twice on the side with the interlocking UB logo for Unger Brothers, 925 Fine, Pat Feb 10 1903. The design appears in high relief with a fantasy of swirls and waves surrounding a winged cupid kissing a sleeping figure. There are more waves and swirls down the handle terminating with a woman's face wrapped in swirls of hair, crowned with a shell on both the top and bottom of the handle. The design is quintessential Art Nouveau. Except for very narrow edges, there is no undecorated space. As far as I know, these are the original bristles, which have been soaked and washed. The condition is very good, with just a slight depression in the silver at the top just above the cupid.

This quilt measures 69" X 85". The colors on the top are predominantly wine, green and mustard. The quilt squares and most of the quilt have hand stitching. The back is plain white muslin, and there is one long seam that has machine stitched finish on the edge and the seam itself. I am guessing that the quilt is American and dates to about the 1940's. The condition is excellent, and the quilt appears to have been used very little. I have not laundered the quilt.

This Royal Copenhagen porcelain vase stands 12" high, 5" diameter at the top. The gray-blue glaze at the top shades to a lighter gray-blue toward the bottom. There is a large floppy white flower on the front with large, long gray-green leaves, but I do not recognize the flower. On the back are two butterflies. The Royal Copenhagen Denmark mark on the bottom dates the vase to 1967. The condition is excellent.

This outstanding Nippon footed cup and saucer have hand painted Art Deco geometric decoration in green, reddish/orange and lots of raised gold, including raised dots around the rim of the saucer and the cup, as well as throughout the design. The porcelain is very fine and translucent. The cup has three graceful feet that turn outwards. The matching saucer is not marked. The saucer is 5-1/2" in diameter and the cup is 2-1/4" high, 3-3/4" in diameter at the top. Since the set is not marked Made in Japan, it dates to about 1920 or earlier. The condition is excellent.

This Argenta charger is 12.5" in diameter. With center is inlaid with a raised sterling depiction of a large bird with spread wings and tail dominating a snake. The rim is edged in silver, and there are little raised silver bubbles scattered throughout. The silver is highlighted by the mottled turquoise ground. The mark on the back shows that the design was made by Kage, probably the most prestigious artist for Argenta in Sweden. The charger dates to approximately the 1930's-40's. The condition is excellent.

This pair of candlesticks is 6-3/4" high. They are signed at the bottom Gianmaria Buccellati 925 Italy. The center columns are polished lazurite, a mottled blue and white mineral which is present in lapis lazuli. Gianmaria was born in 1929 and is the son of the founder of the company, Mario Buccellati. Gianmaria owns all of the U.S. operations of the firm. In Europe his business bears his name to distinguish it from that of his brothers. These candlesticks have been discontinued, and they were probably purchased in Italy around the 1970's. The condition is excellent.

This box is 9-1/4" x 3-3/4" x 2" high. The black lacquer top is decorated with two birds and plants and a gold rim at the bottom. The bird at the top looks like a peacock with iridescent red and yellow inlay with a background of plants painted in gold with red and blue iridescent inlay. There is a smaller bird at the bottom, also in yellow, red and blue inlay with similar plants. All the sides of the top have little decorative spots of mother of pearl inlay. The bottom is black lacquer with a simple gold trim at the top rim. I believe that the box dates to about the 1950's. The condition is very good for such a vintage item. There are a few minor nicks at the edges of the top and the bottom, and a little wear in the gold on the bottom of the lid. The image on the top is in very good condition.
