Note that one side has emeralds on the shank and the other has sapphires. Total weight of the ring is 9.6 dwt or 15 g. The ring dates to about the 1970's, and the condition is excellent. This pair of earrings is 22K yellow gold, marked on a plaque on the back of one of the earrings. Each side is 11/16", just under 3/4", and the total weight is 9 dwt or 14 g. The earrings are slightly dome shaped. There is a post and omega clip on the back. The earrings are handmade. In the center is a fine quality bezel set diamond about 15 pts, surrounded by channel set calibre cut rubies, further surrounded by a pierced, hand cut border of Greek key design. Because the gold is 22K, it has a rich, deep gold tone. There are no maker's marks. The previous owner stated that the earrings date to about the 1940's. The condition is excellent.

This Argenta charger is 12.5" in diameter. With center is inlaid with a raised sterling depiction of a large bird with spread wings and tail dominating a snake. The rim is edged in silver, and there are little raised silver bubbles scattered throughout. The silver is highlighted by the mottled turquoise ground. The mark on the back shows that the design was made by Kage, probably the most prestigious artist for Argenta in Sweden. The charger dates to approximately the 1930's-40's. The condition is excellent.

This bronze cow is about 4" high x 8-1/2" long x 4" deep. There is a beautiful, even dark brown patina, and the details are crisp. The ribs are visible on the body and the face and hooves are finely modeled. I have not found a signature. I am not sure whether the cow is Japanese or Chinese, and I have received expert opinions for both. It dates to the 19th century. It is a fine piece in excellent condition. I would note that there is a diagonal seam on the bottom with a rectangular piece at the end. I believe that the seam and the rectangle are part of the original construction, since the patina is smooth on the bottom.

This pen & ink drawing is 9-3/4" x 17-3/4" or 17" x 25-1/4" with the frame. It is signed Walt Kuhn 28 on the right . Walt Kuhn is a well known artist and was one of the main organizers of the famous and controversial Armory Show of 1913 in New York, which introduced modern art to the U.S. on a grand scale. The gallery label on the back is from a Madison Avenue gallery in New York City from the early 1950's. It is interesting that recently a young man in New York told me that a friend of his mother was the model for this drawing. The drawing is in excellent condition with no visible tears or foxing. This is an opportunity to own a work by an important American artist at a reasonable price.

This elegant 18K yellow gold pendant or pin has three arms that radiate from the center to form a triangular shape, 1-1/2" on each side. The piece is layered and slightly domed. Each arm consists of textured leaves lying on top of each other, all pointing toward the diamonds in the center. There is a round cluster of six diamonds in the center, approximately 4 pts. each, with a stone in the center that is about 7-8 pts. Also radiating from the center are three slim accent leaves in white gold each set with three diamonds of about 3 pts. each, for a total of about 58 pts of diamonds. There is an 18K stamp on the back. There are also a pin and a loop on the back, so that it can be worn as either a pin or a pendant. The total weight is 7.9 dwt or 12.3 g. The piece dates to about the 1950's, and the condition is excellent.

This pair of earrings is one inch in diameter. The large mabe pearls in the center are 18 mm surrounded by a graceful swirling frame in 14K yellow gold which is 3/16" wide. The pearls are 1/2" high and have excellent luster. The backs are omega clips without a post. A post can be added, and I can have this done for you. Sometimes, however, a large earring like this fits better without the post; it depends on how your ears are pierced. The earrings date to about the 1970's, and the condition is excellent.

This 14K white gold ring consists of five narrow bands held together in the back and set with diamonds on the top. The bands are bead set with small diamonds, interspersed with 12 prong set diamonds of about 5-6 pts each, raised above the rest of the setting. There is slight side movement in the separate, individual bands, but they do not move up and down. Of course, when the ring is on the finger, the bands line up precisely. The band is about .5" wide on the top, about .3" wide at the back. The ring is a size 7, but when you buy a ring with a wide shank, you should add an extra quarter or half size to your normal size, so I would recommend this ring for someone who usually wears a size 6-1/2. Because of the construction at the back, it would be difficult to change the size of this ring. This style is known as a Hawaiian wedding band or harem ring and dates to about the 1950's. It is indistinctly marked ER....14K inside the shank. The condition is excellent.

This is a rare and special covered tureen with handpainted Chinoiserie decoration. The tureen is 5-1/2" high to the finial, 10-1/2" wide by 9-1/4". The handpainted decoration in cobalt blue, orange-red, green and gold depicts Chinese pagodas on the top of the lid and inside the base of the tureen. There are no maker's marks, but I have identified the tureen to date to 1813-1820 with a picture on p. 100 of Godden's Guide to Mason's China and The Ironstone Wares. Amazingly for a piece which is almost 200 years old, the condition is excellent, no chip cracks or repairs. This came from the estate of a family which obviously treasured the tureen.

This special and fine cameo brooch or pin is set in 14K yellow gold. The original C-clasp is present on the back, which dates the brooch to the Victorian period of the 19th century, around 1860-1880. It measures 1-3/4" high by 1-1/2" wide. The very finely carved shell cameo is set in a 14K yellow gold bezel, which is surrounded by exquisite gray seed pearls, further surrounded by a delicate narrow, textured gold border. The entire expanse of the back is 14K yellow gold. There are no marks, but I have tested the gold and guarantee that it is 14K. It is possible that the beautiful image of the woman in profile with a profusion of flowers intertwined with her curls is Proserpine. She is the ancient Roman goddess whose story is the basis of a myth of spring. The condition is excellent, no damage to the cameo, no missing pearls, no damage to the gold.

This is an outstanding Native American cuff bracelet that is a fairly large size and could fit a man with a small or medium wrist. The bangle is 2-1/4" wide at the center and tapers to 1-1/4" at the back. The inside measurement is 2.9" wide by 2".It is fairly heavy and weighs 90.6 dwt or 141 g. The sterling bangle is profusely inlaid with large nuggets of turquoise with a lot of matrix and deeply colored coral set in bezels. One particularly unusual section alternates three turquoise nuggets with two stripes of coral. The background for the stones is deeply oxidized to heighten the contrast with the stones. The back is marked sterling with a maker's logo that I have not been able to identify. The piece comes from a collection that ended in the 1970's and the condition is excellent. I have not polished the bracelet.

The heart is somewhat puffy, about 3/8" thick, but hollow. There are no marks, but I have tested it and guarantee that it is 14K. The piece dates to about 1880-1900, and it is in excellent estate condition, with a minor scratch or insignificant ding.
