This ink drawing is 17 x 16 inches with the frame. Titled Horse Show on the back, there are myriad depictions of horses and stylized, mostly male nudes engaged in various activities. For lack of a better description I have designated the style surreal. It is signed lower right K Tonny, for Kristian Tonny, a listed Dutch artist 1907-1977. The paper on the back came off, and I have reserved the two labels, which contain important information. One label is from the de Young Museum in San Francisco with a title of Drawing No. 5 and the name Horse Show, which may have been the name of the Tonny Drawing or the exhibit at the de Young. It also lists the Marie Harriman Gallery as the owner. The other label is from the Marie Harriman Gallery, E. 57th St., New York City and also lists the title as Drawing No. 5. The gallery was open from 1930-1942, so the Tonny drawing probably dates to about that period or slightly earlier. The full name of Marie was Marie Norton Whitney Harriman, which combines three last names of very prominent art collecting families. Marie was the wife of Averell Harriman, who was a governor of New York State and an ambassador to the Soviet Union and Britain. The inventory of Marie's gallery formed the basis of Averell Harriman's art collection, much of which is now in the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. This Tonny drawing has an impressive provenance and is in good condition, no damage.

This watercolor painting is about 9" by 6", or 15" by 11-3/4" with the frame. The image depicts a classically draped mother with a child on her back. The faces are attractive and gentle, and the composition is spare but excellent. I have not found a signature on this piece, which is obviously high quality. I would estimate that the picture dates to about 1890-1910. The condition of the image is very good. The paper is taped to the mat on the back.

The earrings are in an antique style and date to about the 1960's. The condition is excellent.

The frame of this pendant or pin is 18K yellow gold. It is not marked, but I have tested it and guarantee that it is 18K. On top of the frame is a design of cultured pearls, diamonds, and a carved sapphire, ruby and emerald, all set in 14K white gold. The piece measures 1.7" wide by 1.9 high. The pearl that dangles from the bottom is 7.5mm, and the other pearls vary from about 4mm to 6mm. There are small diamonds set in the leaf shapes, and there are three carved stones, a sapphire, ruby and emerald. The bail at the top folds down so that the piece can be used either as a pin or pendant. It weighs 20.8 g. or 13.4 dwt. It dates to about the 1950's, and the condition is excellent.
These dangling earrings in 18K yellow gold are quite extraordinary. They are two inches long and consist of separately moving leaf shapes pave set with a total of 11 ct. of yellow diamonds, terminating in very large, golden pearls of about 15mm. It is very difficult to find two large golden pearls that match almost perfectly, as these do. When the earrings are worn, the leaf pattern falls evenly all the way around the earrings, front and back, so there is no empty space exposed at the back. There is a post and large push on stop for the ear. The earrings weigh a total of 37.3 g. or 24 dwt. They are marked 750 on the back near the post, as well as on the push on stop. They date to about the 1970's, and the condition is excellent, like new. They look like they came out of a page from a current issue of Town & Country magazine.
