| The firm of Lalaounis is the Tiffany of Greece. These 18K yellow gold earrings are in the form of elongated spirals which terminate in the heads of lions with a collar of small prong set diamonds and five bezel set rubies graduated in size along the body. There are also two tiny bezel set rubies in the eyes of each lion. The backs are clips marked Greece 750 (for 18K) plus Lalaounis hallmarks. The earrings weigh 12.8 dwt or 19.9 g and measure 15/16" by 1-1/4". There are no posts, and the only way to convert to posts and clips is to change the entire existing clips with the hallmarks. These earrings date to about the 1970's, and the condition is excellent. | ||
