Brandywine Militaria
Very cool document with signatures from both Benito Mussolini and Victor Emmanuel III who of course was the King of Italy before and during the war. The letterhead to the document also adds the title IMPERATORE D'ETIOPIA as the Italians were very proud of this conquest as they began to flex their muscles in the colonial arena. Another point of interest are the stamps on the reverse. Both include the year date 1938 but the Fascists also started counting years again from the March On Rome...

Brandywine Militaria
Fabulous reference book covering just about every uniform from Fascist Italy during the war, starting with the 1926 Fascist March On Rome. Shocking number of color plates showing military, political, youth, female auxiliary and on and on. Catalog excerpts, detailed text, innumerable photographs and well over 100 color examples of uniforms in wear as well as page after page of various insignia, some of which are quite obscure...

Very nicely done .999 silver memorial medal for Admiral Karl Donitz. Donitz passed away in 1980 and this medal was produced in 1981. The reverse of the medal commemorates the U-boat war specifically. The medal has not been removed from its wrapping but does have some toning to the bottom left obverse. Also comes with a 20 page autobiographical booklet on Donitz as well as a numbered certificate of authenticity. This COA is numbered 982.

Classic revised edition 1981 hardcover reference book Japanese Swordsmiths by W. M. Hawley is a staple for collectors and not often found offered for sale at a reasonable price. This one has minor staining to the edge of page blocks as seen in attached images. The spine binding is loose by inside leafs have only minor tear. A used example in reasonable condition but pages are clean and bright throughout. Priced accordingly.

Superb reference book on Japanese pistols from the WWII era and earlier. Of course there is an emphasis on the famous Nambu models but it does cover other relevant examples. Very gently used condition; Minor shelf wear with no damage. All pages are crisp and clean with sharp corners. Great reference to have if this matches one's interest. I am charging only $10 more then I paid 22 years ago.

Interesting antique firemen's medal dated October 4-5-6 1923. Very nice fireman artwork on the medallion portion. While fire medals are not particularly rare this one is also notable as it has the ribbon and cockade which are normally all long gone. As can be seen in the images the red ribbon has some damage and the MEMBER bar to the top of the ribbon needs a couple of stitches to reattach to the cockade...

Very nice named British Life Saving Medal. RLSS bar coincides with medal obverse that reads 'ROYAL LIFE SAVING SOCIETY ESTABLISHED 1891' and shows a sea rescue in process. The reverse reads 'AWARDED TO' and is engraved with the name 'M. S. COSSETT AUG 1926'. Around the edge of the obverse is Latin, probably the society slogan. The second bar is the date 1933, probably when the award was presented. Both bars are on the original ribbon which is usually long gone...

Nice set of three Hindenburg Zeppelin unused and in excellent condition. Excellent shots of the airship before it got its lettering. Very nice set.

Very cool and extremely rare yearbook for the First Torpedo Boat Flotilla. The Wiemar navy at this time was very small and Germany was still heavily restricted in the size of its navy by the Versailles treaty. As many navies have figured out, it was quickly seen that with smaller torpedo boats it was possible to pack a lot of offensive punch into a small craft. This is a similar theory to the American PT boats...

Classic unit history: History of the 508th Parachute Infantry. First edition printed in 1948. This unit, the Red Devils, were part of the 82nd Airborne Division and famously served in D-Day and the subsequent Normandy campaign, all through the European campaign ad into occupation. This book follows them from training to the end and includes an Honor Roll in the back as well as a day by day history of the regiment...

What a cool item. This is a signed copy of the book Emden Ayesha by the famous captain of the Emden Kapitanleutnant Hellmuth Von Mucke. Interestingly enough, the book was printed in Berlin in 1917. No doubt the story of this famous naval personality was used as propaganda to encourage the German populace in their war effort. Von Mucke was famous for his impressive success in commerce raiding and quickly became a national hero. Obviously this book is written in German...

Very interesting stock certificate. Dated Sept 16, 1947 this certificate is for 100 shares of Tucker Corporation stock. Tucker, of course, produced what became known as the Tucker Torpedo. After producing something like 58 cars the company was wrapped up in a stock related scandal which finished off the corporation. I have read that it was actually a great car. This is one of those ill-fated stock certificates. Condition is excellent with nice, clean coloring...

1932 dated signed postcard of Beniamino Gigli. Gigli was an Italian opera singer who many consider to be one of the very finest tenors in the recorded history of music. Good sized signature is on bottom part of the photograph. This is from the estate of Edward A. Schaeffer, a family friend who passed away a few years ago. Collecting autographs of public figures from all walks of life was, for him, an obsession/addiction that brought him much happiness while he was still with us. Signed postcard ...

I am pleased to offer Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945 Cyclopedia Edition by Jim Dawson. Even after owning this book for quite a while I am amazed at the detail with which Mr. Dawson attacks the subject in this 448 page monster. Virtually every page is profusely illustrated with over the top photography relating to the highly detailed text. This book is a must for both the beginning and advanced collector. In the photos of this listing I have included the table of contents which is the best wa...
Brandywine Militaria
From the estate of a friend who was an avid autograph collector. Short personal letter signed by Franz Halder who was in command of OKW until (I believe) 1942. LOetter is dated July 1970 and seems to be a reply to a request for signed photos and a return of one dollar which accompanied the request. Franz Halder passed away in 1972 in the Bavarian town from which this letter was sent; Aschau. Letter is folded in half (Below text and signature) with some chipping to top of document.
