| Very attractive Panel engraved sword for the 11th Hessian Train Battalion. Nice, clean engraving to both sides. Blade is excellent with just a tiny bit of "chatter" on one area of the edge that can hardly be seen and must be felt with a finger. Two tiny spots of plating towards the tip. These are very small and don't detract much from a very pretty blade. Early WKC mark with the king's head and knight's head. Fish skin on handle is undamaged and leather fingerloop is present and strong. Both basket hilt and scabbard throat re marked T.B.11.2.164 Which I believe stands for 11th Train Battalion 2nd Company, trooper number 164. Very nice sword. | |||||||||||||||
