Very nice single decal M40. There is always debate over whether a decal is naval gold or just an age toned infantry silver/white. In my opinion this one is certainly gold. The second image is taken outdoors with natural light. Inside shell is marked ET64, lot number is 1221 and liner size is 57. None of the liner tongues are torn or damaged. Chinstrap, marked RFNr 0/0494/0008, shows some cracking but still holding strong. Wear is nicely consistent throughout shell, liner and chinstrap with both showing just the right wear to give it the "been there" look. The outside of the shell is nicely wrapped with chicken wire which loops under to hook onto the band in three places. I have never understood how one can tell the difference between 70 year old European chicken wire and any other type of wire but this really does have a good look. I like the wire but since I can't be sure on it I am pricing the helmet as if the wire wasn't there. Really nice helmet with that really cool field look to it.
