| Very clean Civil War cavalry saber by Roby dated 1864. Handle is nice and tight and in good condition. Wire and leather wrap are solid with one chip in the leather near the pommel and a small rough spot near the guard (not bad but needs mentioning-see photos). Brass on handle is excellent. Blade rates excellent; some dark spots but on the whole very clean. Some light nickc toward the tip. Scabbard is very clean with a nice, even patina. Scabbard has one tiny ding near the drag but is very unnoticable. No rust or rust damage anywhere on the sword or scabbard. All in all a nice package. | ||||||||||
