| This piece of beaded embroidery is intricately worked and exquisite! It is not actually a dollhouse carpet but was long ago put into heavy black silk to make a dollhouse accessory. The beads are glass and range in color from deep, dark blue to brilliant royal blue. There are gold beads at regular intervals, and in the middle there is a whippet resting on a tasseled pillow with gold beaded edging. To the right of the dog there is a small but barely noticeable repair. The rug measures 7 1/4 inches x 5 3/4 inches and would be a wonderful addition to an early dollhouse. Circa 1820-1850. | |||||||
