|Unparalleled quality Art Deco ebene de macassar 11 piece Art Deco dining suite by Jules Cayette (1882-1953) who worked his whole life in Nancy, the birthplace of Art Nouveau. This remarkable suite is comprised of a large server with four glass front cabinets above inset beveled mirror and marble top serving area, two central drawers and cabinets below with mother of pearl inlay and parquetry work, flanked on each side by 4 side drawers. Dessert has dramatically grained back with centered inlaid mother on pearl design above marble top serving area, two vertical cabinets with glass inserts flanking central drawers, an open shelf, and lower cabinets. Beautifully grained table top supported by fluted column legs. Hardware is exceptional, and all original. Jules Cayette was a blacksmith, carpenter, blacksmith, sculptor and decorator who began his own firm in 1910 in Nancy, after working with Jacques Gruber and Eugene Vallin. His entire career was spent in Nancy, the birthplace of Art Nouveau, but he transitioned into Art Deco as Art Nouveau waned and faded into history.
