Here for your buying pleasure is an early all-original Babyland Rag-Albert Bruckner Topsy Turvy cloth doll. Early 1893 on.
This Bruckner Topsy Turvy doll features a black faced doll on one end and a white faced doll on the other. They are an earlier example than what is many times seen, and retain all of their original clothing and bonnets. They are entirely hand sewn and their clothing is a combination of hand and machine sewn stitching. The are 13-inches in height.
The black doll is clothed in a wonderful turkey red heavy cotton, with red and cream trim and wearing a bandanna to her head. Her facial features remain crisp and clear. She has upper teeth showing and little wisps of hair out the sides of her bandanna. Deep brown eyes with white eye dots and black eyebrows.
The white little rag doll has more muted featuring, but all of her features are still clearly seen. She is dressed in all of her original attire with a red tiny checked pattern bonnet and blouse, a rose colored skirting and a cream colored apron.
This is a really nice early example of the early Babyland Rag dolls. This example probably was supplied by Albert Bruckner.
