Stunning red lizard skin handbag by Martin van Schaak, New York is in very nice condition. The skin is beautiful maroon red and the hardware is in good condition. There are some interior scratches where the snap hits the top and the back pocket slat has a few stiches out. The handle can be made into a shoulder strap and is in very good condition. Scenic beaded bag with drawstring and fringe. The landscape has a forest with two figures and what appears to be a stream. Very small beads make up the purse and the colors are most vivid. Condition is great, but the lining has been changed in the sixties with makes for an interesting effect. The bag dates from the 1900s. 6 1/2 X 9 inches
