| A pair of Hudson River School oil on canvas landscapes by William Ongley (1836 - 1890). One painting depicts a vibrant waterfall surrounded by a beautiful sunlit forest in the summer. The other is of an overcast sky and lake in the fall, with waterfowl darting low across the lake. William Ongley studied with Thomas Worthington Whittredge, and exhibited at the American Artists Association. Ongley’s works are in numerous museums. Each painting has a area of restoration less than 1” diameter each (see enlarged photo following each painting backside shot) Measurements: sight size 11.5” x 9.75”, in original gilt composition frames 15” x 13”. | ||||||||||||||
