| Dutch oil painting, Circle of Casper Netscher (1639-1684), “Portrait of a Lady Seated by a Fountain”. From the Estate of Colonel James Elverson, Jr. (d. 1929), president and publisher of the Philadelphia Inquirer. This painting came to auction in 1930 and was sold by the American Art Association, predecessor to Sotheby’s. The frame is 19th century and was original to the 1930 auction. Copy of 1930 catalog comes as part of the provenance. The painting was relined by Newman Galleries of Philadelphia. More photos and information available upon request.
