| An especially well crafted WWII fighting or trench knife. Often, as in the case with this knife, a used file was ground down to form the blade. Some of the file's ridges were left exposed and used as a design element. The handle is made of aviator aluminum, brass, and a bakelite type of material that was sanded and polished. What appears to be a crack or break in the handle is actually where two pieces of this material meet. Note the steel rivet in the brass butt. The blade has been well maintained. In excellent condition, the knife measures 10 5/8 inches long. | |||||||
