Designed and cut by Louis Iorio is this rare set of 8 plates, each with an different intricately cut pattern. All the plates are in excellent original condition and all are hand signed by Iorio. Dating early 20th, the plates measures 6.25" diameter.
Louis Iorio, considered by many as the last of the brilliant cut artists, was a Master Glass Cutter. Known as "Mr. Cut Glass, he worked for the Empire Cut Glass Company in Flemington, New Jersey until they closed in the 1920s. In 1936, Iorio and his son opened the Iorio Glass Shop in Flemington. |
