| Oil on Board, by African American folk artist Black Joe Jackson. Born near Atlanta, Ga in 1920 to a poor share-cropper family, Jackson was born dyslexic as evidenced by his lettering. Signed “Black Joe Jackson” and titled “MAMA HALN WATR” (Mama Hauling Water)is his painting of a mother carrying 2 buckets of water across her shoulders with a child holding on to her skirt tails. In a custom painted wood frame, it measures 37” high x 30” wide. | |||||||
