This unusual pair of cast iron retrievers were originally intended as wall ornaments - one still has the hanging ring soldered to the back. They could be used as bookends although their plinths are fairly narrow. Certainly decorative for collectors of retrievers items. With no identifying marks it is difficult to ascertain where they were made in the early 20th century. They measure 6 inches wide by 3-3/4 inches high.
A pointing dog made of cast iron with original paint, white with black spots, a setter possibly made by Hubley though unmarked. The year of manufacture would be difficult to determine as there are no identifying marks. In very good paint with minor rubbing, and very charming. The dog measures 4-1/2 inches in length and 2-3/4 inches in height.
