Tall, organic form sculpture by Luciano Gaspari for Salviati & Co.. The sculpture is formed of three joined irregular disks, with richly varied surface textures and folds. A large clear yellow disk is supported by two light smoke-gray disks (one disk has a slight bluish tinge that the other does not), the whole rising out of a dark smoke-gray block. The glass, being hand worked contains some bubbles, but are not considered flaws and add to the organic nature of the sculpture. The piece invites the touch and interacts with it's surroundings through the play of light through the glass and off the surfaces. The photos show the piece in static white environment to show the colors of glass used, and in various other environments to show how the piece transforms in various conditions. The sculpture measures 20 inches (50.8 cm) Tall, 12 inches (30.5 cm) wide, and 4.75 inches (12.1 cm) deep. The piece is signed L. Gaspari/Salviati and bears the Salviati & Co foil label. Excellent condition; no chips, cracks or repairs. Minor scratches on bottom as expected for age. Circa 1960
