| Antique Goyard Trunk, early 1900's, from the estate of noted Opera Soprano Geraldine Farrar (America, b. 1882; d. 1967). She had her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1906, and performed opposite Enrico Caruso in 1907 in the American premiere of Madame Butterfly, and was later a celebrated Carmen. She retired from Opera in 1922. She was also a silent film star, debuting in Carmen directed by Cecil B. DeMille, starring in 13 films in her career. This is not just a trunk but a piece of HISTORY! The trunk has three lift out trays, strong solid brass handles, lock and latches. Sorry, no key for this trunk. Evidence of old repairs but nothing major. I've done nothing to this trunk except a light wipe down with a damp towel. I do not do repairs, I leave that to the experts. This is a large trunk measuring 47 inches (119.4 cm) long; 24.5 inches (62.2 cm) Deep and 27.75 inches (70.5 cm) Tall. | ||
