Culture: Egyptian. Date: 664-525 BC (26th Dynasty). Material: Wood. Condition: Intact. Provenance: Ex: Private European collection. Measurements: 43 1/4 in. H. (110 cm.), 23 1/2 in. W. (60). Egyptian upper part of a wood anthropoid sarcophagus. The mask wears an elaborate wig and collar, a prominent scarab on the forehead and has a false beard. Polychrome over gesso, bronze inlay for the eye liners and brows.
