LARGE PHOENICIAN STATUE OF A MUSICIAN, 6TH-4TH CENT BC
Culture: Greco - Phoenician. Date: 6th - 4th Century BC. Material: Terracotta. Condition: Complete and intact, with minor restoration to hands, and traces of sea deposits. Provenance: Ex: Private collection; Ex: Asfar & Sarkis, 1971, Beirut. Measurements: 17.75 inches high (45 cms). Featuring a standing veiled musician, she is playing the double flut. A beautiful example of Archaic Greek art and its blending with Phoenician art. A wonderful artifact from the maritime trade in the Eastern Mediterranean.
