| Culture: Greek. Date: 540 -530 B.C. Material: Pottery. Condition: Intact. Provenance: Ex. Sybille Kroeber Collection, Berlin, c. 1964. Measurements: 4 7/8 in. high (12.5 cms.), 8 7/8 9n. diam. (22.6 cms). Attic Black-Figure Band Cup in the Manner of the Runners Painter. On either side, a rider on a white horse is flanked by two nude runners and two draped males. The name runners painter was proposed by Dr. Herman Brijder in his article "Attic Black Figure Cups in Amsterdam and an Exchange with Heidelberg", BABesch 50, 1975, 157-177. | ||
