| A fine matched pair of Japanese cloisonné vases, the scene is of a procession making its way up a snow covered mountain to a castle or shrine/temple. The decoration is beautifully executed in silver wire and wireless techniques, all on a bluish grey ground. The vases are in very good condition, both have a hairline on the interior, which do not go through to the outside and are only visible inside, one vase also has a hairline on the base (see photos). The rim and foot are tarnished, so assume they are silver. These are difficult to date for me, but believe they are from the Taisho or early Showa period (1920-1950). Insured shipping for the pair will be $18.00 in the mainland US, if you want it shipped to Hawaii, Alaska or anywhere else in the world please email me for shipping cost.
