| Rattle. Ethnic group Songye, R. D. Congo, 20 AD. It carved wood and seeds. Dimensions: 28 x 4 cm. Rattle consists of several circular bodies and a handle carved into a female bust, with very geometric features. The Songye, settled in the Democratic Republic of Congo, used in their rituals a variety of fetishes and amulets. They also have great figures related to the rituals of the full moon. These figures are adorned with a horn or feathers, symbols that alluding to its magical character. | ||||||||||||
