Vintage Japanese ranma, a decorative architectural transom. This transom is crafted from a hinoki (cypress) frame with a carved kiri panel. The panel features carvings of kiri and chrysanthemum blossoms, and a beautiful wood grain. It dates to the early Showa-Period (c.1930), and is in excellent condition. It has been thoroughly cleaned and waxed to restore the lovely patina to its original luster. The ranma measures a little over 68" long by 12" tall by 1" deep.
