Vintage Japanese Ceramic Sculpture Fukurokuju

Vintage Japanese earthenware statue of Fukurokuju, dating to the early Showa-Period (c.1930). One of the Seven Lucky Gods of Japan, or Shichifukujin, Fukurokuju is commonly associated with wisdom, wealth and longevity. The bearded deity is depicted here in traditional form, holding a staff and prayer scroll. His unusually large forehead is synonymous with scholarly wisdom. This item is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. It measures roughly 5 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches deep, and stands 9 1/2 inches tall.

Shipping within the continental United States is included in the purchase price. International customers please contact me for a shipping quote. Local pickup at our downtown Los Angeles gallery is always welcome with no shipping or handling charges.
