Three section Japanese antique isho-dansu, or clothing chest, dating to the Taisho-period (1912-1926). This tansu is crafted almost entirely from Kiri, or Paulownia wood, prized by Japanese furniture makers for being strong, lightweight, and naturally resistant to damage from pests or the elements. This chest has been thoroughly cleaned and restored to its original luster with a rich, golden-hued beeswax. Other than slight wear and tear from age, it is in excellent condition. It measures 65 inches tall, by 46 1/2" wide, by 15 1/2" deep.
This item with be packaged in a separate custom plywood shipping crates and well padded to ensure against damage. Fully insured shipping via Fedex Ground is $350 to the continental United States and $450 to Canada. International customers please contact me for a shipping quote. Foreign buyers are responsible for all customs duties and importation fees where applicable. Local pickup at our downtown Los Angeles gallery is always welcome with no shipping or handling charges. |
