Japanese antique carved wooden gong with striker, Taisho-Period (c.1920). Hand-carved in the shape of a koi fish, approximately 24 inches wide, 7 inches tall and 2 inches thick. Designed to be struck with the hammer shaped wooden striker. Good overall condition; indigo cloth on eyes and fins has largely worn off, and there are some chips in the paint, particularly on the bottom.
SHIPPING DETAILS: PLEASE NOTE! Armas Imports Los Angeles locations will be temporarily suspending operations in the month of April while we are in Japan for our spring buying trip. Items purchased and paid in full before April 1st will be shipped prior to departure. While in Japan, we will be accepting orders. ITEMS PURCHASED IN APRIL WILL NOT BE SHIPPED UNTIL WE RETURN ON THE FIRST OF MAY. Additionally, appointments at our Los Angeles gallery will not be available during the month of April.
