| A fine oil painting on canvas by Sei Koyanagui. Two Dogs Looking Up at a Bird in a Tree. Signed by the artist in the upper left. Measures 31 3/4 x 25 1/2 inches. Add 2 1/2 inch for the nice frame. Very good condition - has been relined. Born in Sapporo, Japan, the artist studied under Okada Saburosuke. He left for France in 1920 where he became friends with Foujita and Bando. His work was exhibited in the major Paris Salons. Influenced by Picasso's 'Saltimbocca' style. Foujita's wife left him for Koyanagui. He returned to Japan in 1937. | ||
