The box is self-standing with a signed Art and Orchid Gallery label. As is all our coral, this specimen was collected over 30 years ago. The Art and Orchid Gallery's wall art is a copy of an Ikebana found in Shozo Sato's book "The Complete Guide to Japanese Ikebana" #460 [55A] Instead of live water irises, we used our dried Dendrobium orchids. Dendrobium is an orchid genus with over 1400 species. We believe this one is Dendrobium superbiens, raised at our gallery.[130B] The Ikebana is arranged in a glass-covered shadow box over a textured silk background. The art is made and signed in our gallery in the Unite ...click for details

This unusual stalactite hard stone carving has a deeply recessed carved figure, probably carved in the 20th Century. Stalactites are stone 'icicles' generally made of calcium carbonate but may contain greater than 65 minerals. They form on the roofs of caverns over long periods of time.[1, 2] During the second cycle of cave or cavern formation, when the water table is below the cave, rainwater passing through soils and rocks dissolve soluble compounds and drip through these caves.
