| This 18th Century street scene of the French town of Beauvais with its famed 13th Century Gothic cathedral, Cathedrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais, rises above the 12th to 16th Century thatched roof structures. This is depicted in a 19th Century hand colored typogravure with brightly colored figures in 17th/18th Century costume. This picture is numbered '2065' and is double matted. The wooden frame is hand made and outlined in green enamel paint. The colorist has chosen to strategically highlight each of the figures with a different color: light to dark blue, red, orange and yellow. With the exception of the cathedral roof, the buildings have fine detail of thatched roofs in light brown. The sky is done in a realistic grayish-blue with billowing clouds rising in the sky. A few flying birds have been added for accent. Print Size: ~ 15 1/2" H x 11"; Framed Size: ~ 21 1/4" H x 16 1/2" Weight: ~ 4 pounds. | ||
