| This one-of-a-kind floral art is from The Art and Orchid Gallery's "Orchids and Lace" Series. It is a Dendrobium hybrid of Victoria-Reginae discovered in the late 1890's. The orchids have been dried, mounted on lace and silk in a shadow box for table or hanging display. The back of the box contains a photo of the live orchid and a signed label. Dendrobium is one of the largest orchid genera with over 1400 species and some of the showiest flowers. They generally grow on reed-like pseudobulbs in climates that vary from the hot, humid Southern India to almost alpine mountain conditions.[130A, 133B] Victoria-Reginae was named to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee.[1414C] References available upon request.
