Pi Shu Shih Nu with Huo Long Guo
The Art and Orchid Gallery's wall art called "pi shu shih nu" and " huo long guo" is Chinese for "ladies in summer undress" and "fire dragon fruit" skin.[73A, WIKI] We create this pictorial art in glass-covered, framed quasi-shadow boxes for novel artistic wall or table top decoration art at our gallery. In this box is a photo montage, using bright surreal colors, of a pi shu shih nu surrounded by the dried skin of the pitahaya (variety) of the genus, Hylocereus. This is more commonly known as dragon fruit and is native to warm climates around the world.[WIKI] This artistic piece begins our series (October 17, 2013) of one-of-a-kind 'Pi Shu Shih Nu' wall art. We borrow this Chinese name from the "Human Figures" Books # 5-#7 of Emperor Hui Tsung (Sung Dynasty) Catalogues (20) of his art collection.[73B] References available upon request. Size with Frame: ~ 11 1/2" x 8 1/4" x 1 1/4"; Weight: ~ 1 1/4 pounds;
