Artist: Alcaraz, Fernando Ibanez (Spanish b.1969)

Size: 10.6' x 8.7" (with frame 21 x 19) Medium: oil on canvas Artist: Alcaraz was born in Alcoy, Alicante, Spain, and in 1984 at age 15, he began to study under one of the Spanish master teachers, where he learned various forms of art, and devoted 5 years to the art of drawing. He enrolled in the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in Alcoy where he continued to develop his skill as an artist. Upon graduation, he chose to specialize in oil painting although he had a great interest in pastels, watercolor and pencil drawing. Although his work is considered to be an artistc form of realism, many of his paintings could be termed as an elevated form of hyper-realism. Alcaraz has participated in collective exhibitions and One Man shows. Today, this artist is recognized for his broad artistic skill, perfected through years of study and practice. He masterfully creates realistic, yet artful still life and scenes of soft relaxing Spanish beaches and towns, His application of paint layers and texture results in depth, light and atmosphere, bringing the viewer into the tranquility of his subjects. Awards:1984 age 16, Ibi, Alicante 2nd prize in the 4th Concurso de Careles de Fiestas de Moros y Cristianos. 1985 age 17, Alicante, 3rd place Concurso de Hugueras Experimentales Exhibitions of Mention:1992 Encuentro Mundial for the Fraternidad Hermana, in the Palace for Exhibitions and Congress of Granada. 1992 Sala de Arte EMECE of Alcoy. 1992 Casa de la Cultura de Sollana , Valencia.1996 Sala de Arte EMECE of Alcoy’s Grand Collection of Contemporary Teachers of Realism
