Rome, Eastern Empire, ca. 100 to 200 CE. Probably a bas-relief architectural frieze from a building, this carved limestone pieces depicts the lower halves of a woman and satyr's bodies; the woman is holding the satyr's arm. Behind them, small presumably due to perspective, is the complete body of a goat with large, symmetrical horns; the goat looks towards the backs of the two larger figures with its head tilted inquisitively...

Roman empire, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. Very fine marble relief, most likely a panel from a sarcophagus, depicting a standing Satyr, shown nude with good musculature, one hand reaching down toward a panther at his feet, a maenad with long flowing gown and section of nude left leg. A very showy piece! Custom base. Size: 11-5/8" x 11-3/8".

Condition: Losses as shown. Thin in areas but no repairs...

Rome, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A finely carved, ancient marble torso clad in a voluminous garment which drapes around the neck and cascades down the body. The figure's right arm extends outward, perhaps indicating some action or combat, or that the figure was part of an ensemble. Custom, museum-quality stand. Size: 7-1/8" (18.1 cm) x 6-1/4" (15.9 cm) at widest.

Condition: Fragmentary with ancient losses as shown and a hairline surface fissure to lower torso. Finely carved example...
