Nazca Polychrome Kero - Trophy heads

Pre-Columbian, Southern Peru, Nazca Culture, Ca 200 to 400 CE. Polychrome pottery drinking vessel in slightly-corseted form, painted in three bands with upper register of abstract supernatural creature, followed by solid brown band and finally a row of repeating trophy heads with various shades of hair. 6-3/4"H (17cm) x 4-1/4"D (10.8 cm) at rim, intact and generally excellent.

PROVENANCE: Ex-Sarkisian Estate, Denver, CO acquired in the 1950's.
