Pre-Columbian, West Mexico ca. 200 BC - 200 CE. Large flying-saucer shaped jar of rounded form with raised rim, painted in deep-red now with areas of manganese deposits to attest to its age. Overall very good with a 2" long hairline fracture on rim; one chip on the lip rim pre-dating burial. Magnificent scale to this piece, great color, patina, iron spots. 7"H x 13"W at widest.
