Western Anatolian, Bronze Age II, ca. 2700 to 2500 BCE. This is a round marble head from a kilia idol with the facial planes rising toward the chin; it still has a vestigal nose ridge. The angle of the neck is consistent with canonical star gazer figures. Size: 3/4" H (1.9 cm).

Condition: Heavy surface wear; head is a fragment from a larger female figure.

Provenance: Ex-Arte Primitivo
